We are inspired by so many new trends we see every day. We understand how easy it is to love all the styles you see in magazines or online. Painted wood, farmhouse, two-tone, open shelves, stacks, islands…it can make your head spin. So, how do you find the style you want without being distracted by a current trend? (Yes, we know current kitchen remodel trends can have lasting appeal, and we are not knocking them.)

  1. Find pictures and save them in a file.

Sites like Pinterest and Houzz have an endless gallery of pictures and storage on their websites if you sign up (both are free). You can also see an extensive gallery on the website of Karman Cabinets, our main cabinet line that hosts both traditional and Eurostyle cabinetry.

BEWARE…you may get lost looking at pictures for hours, so plan your time accordingly.

  1. See if there is a trend in most of the pictures you save. Is there a style that prevails? A color? A countertop? Maybe a layout might keep appearing in the you save.

In the saved pictures above, black cabinets and paint seem to stand out. You might surprise yourself with what you save. We often think we have a particular style, and that may not be exactly what we are attracted to.

  1. Pour through some more pictures of your main style and focus on small details like drawer/door pulls. Maybe even a runner on the floor will spark interest. Lighting may stand out, or you may see what we label a “sexy” gas range.

Dreaming, designing, and making your dream kitchen a reality should be a fun and exciting experience. We would Love to Help.
